You have been our firm’s and families insurance broker for almost 30 years. I am grateful for your dedicated service, especially recently when we had a major claim from Hurricane Irene.

Our lower level was flooded and the adjuster denied coverage. You insisted that the insurer retain an engineer and when the claim manager read the report he denied the claim as well. You were tenacious and elevated this to the VP of claims. In one telephone call the VP of claims agreed to cover the claim – thank you.

Eight to ten years ago our firm got a $30,000 audit from the State Insurance Fund. When I showed it to you your evaluation was that they misclassified our employees. It was almost one year of continuous effort on your part, but, in the end, the State Fund reverse the audit.

We have since changed our insurance carrier to an insurer who you represent and have not had any problems since then.

Lou and I wanted to take a minute to tell you how pleased we are with the customer service we’ve received over the years from Jeff Pitcher, Don Orlando, and, more recently, Donna.

Our relationship with your company began 35-40 years ago with a call from Jeff and because he didn’t seem like a typical insurance salesperson we made an appointment to meet with him. We were very impressed by him, purchased insurance coverage, and have continued to be a customer even though we moved from Larchmont to Tarrytown about 12 years ago.

On the occasions when we’ve needed help from your staff we initially called Jeff and he provided superb service. Some years ago we started to use Don as our contact person and his service is equally superb and gracious. I often use Don’s service as an example with my colleagues when I want to provide an example of outstanding customer service. When I had a car accident in June Don went way beyond my expectations – he answered my many questions, interfaced with Adirondack on a number of occasions, and he even, on the day of the accident, intervened to help with a recalcitrant towing company employee who took hours to arrive to take the car from Manhattan to Westchester.

Words cannot describe how happy my wife and I are with Alan Benet Insurance Agency. We live in a beautiful colonial home that was built 6 years ago. Recently the Hurricane Irene storm caused damage to our family room walls from an exterior flashing issue. Three inches of rain caused extensive damage to our family room ceilings, carpet, couches, television, appliances and wood floors. It was a complete mess. I called my insurance company Liberty Mutual for an assessment. They did not come promptly, in fact it took 16 days before they sent an adjuster to my home. Along came an adjuster from New Orleans who clearly was not the right person to assess my home. The walls and ceilings were clearly wet and he even acknowledged that my carpet and couch was damaged, yet he only wrote me a check for $3,216! We were completely frustrated for their lack of empathy and offended by their insult to our intelligence. We made contact with several contractors and we clearly had $20,000 worth of damages to our home. During this time, my good friend and colleague Joan Bomann was concerned that I was not returning her calls. When I finally did speak with her, I gave her a little insight as to what was happening. I told her the adjuster told me to just paint the WET CEILINGS. I am licensed real estate broker and I can assure you that if I told any client to just paint a wet ceiling, my license would be revoked. Joan told me to call her friend Alan for advice. She said “Anthony, you are too busy to be dealing with this…and so a wonderful person came into our lives”….Alan Benet.

Alan came over, took pictures and I signed everything over to him. It took 5 weeks, but Alan had me file complaints with the NYS Insurance Department and had me overnight a letter to the CEO of Liberty Mutual. Within this time, he met new adjusters at my home and we were able to get get paid on my personal property and interior damage totaling close to $20,000….My house was not with the proper insurance company and Alan took complete control and helped me get to the next step in the insurance field. I cannot thank Alan enough for his integrity and professional ethics. We are so very pleased with all his efforts and kindness above all. God Bless YOU!

Thank you so much for your invaluable help with the damage we suffered during Hurricane Irene. The entire A.J. Benet staff was incredibly helpful and supportive throughout and made a painful process so much easier. You were on top of the insurance company adjuster and made sure that the damage was inspected and our claim approved surprisingly fast.
